National
Standards for Teachers of Family and Consumer Sciences
Beginning in 2002, the
officers of the National Association of Teacher Educators for Family and Consumer Sciences (NATEFACS) coordinated the effort to develop National Standards for Teachers of Family and Consumer
Sciences. The 2-year development process involved a series of meetings and communications, with participation by FACS professionals in various roles from across the United States. The Standards were approved by NATEFACS membership in December 2004. In 2010, an e-Book was published detailing the standards-development process and providing a research base for each of the ten standards. Links to these documents are provided below. |
