Distinguished Leader Award
This award is to be presented on an "as warranted" basis to a member who has exhibited exemplary leadership in advancing Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher Education. Criteria include:

• being a member of NATEFACS for a minimum of 5 years;
  
  
• being instrumental in formulating national or state policy;
  
  
• making a major contribution to research;
  
  
• developing innovative instrumental materials and/or innovative home economics programs;
  
  
• holding office in state or national associations which have furthered Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher education;
  
  
• publishing scholarly position papers and publications.
  
  

Nominations will be accepted from current members of NATEFACS. The member submitting a nomination is to provide a letter of support attesting to the nominee's qualifications according to the published criteria. This letter will be read when the award is presented. The deadline is October 15th.
